The Documentary Category of Sacramento County History Day is open for participation by students in Grades 6-8 (Junior
Division) and Grades 9-12 (Senior Division). In addition to the General Contest Rules for the entire History Day competition, the Documentary Category Rules are unique from
other categories.
Sample DocumentariesFrom our very own Sacramento County, the National History Day 2006 Award-winning documentary on President Harry S. Truman's decision to drop the atomic bomb and the psychological, economical, social, and cultural factors that contributed to the decision. The theme in 2006 was "Taking a Stand in History." Created by Jikyu Choi, Kevin Liu, James Niebauer, and Don Wei from Mira Loma High School.Truman's DecisionAnd other documentaries that were entered into previous National History Day competitions.
